Congratulations to John Mayo, Truckworx-Huntsville’s first ever Hino Master Elite Technician! The Master Elite Technician designation represents the highest certification a Hino truck technician can attain. In order to be considered a Hino Master Elite Technician, techs must successfully complete 16 online classes, 6 week-long classroom training courses and 6 online Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Medium/Heavy Duty Truck test series certifications. The testing includes various systems and components on Hino conventional, cab-over, and XL trucks.
John has been a part of the Truckworx-Huntsville team since just after the dealership’s opening in 2011 and will celebrate his 10th Anniversary with the company in January. Mark Woods, Service Manager in Huntsville, says “John has always been a person that is ready to accept a challenge. He is always willing to do what is needed to support the team and he sets a great example for younger techs with his work ethic and determination to get the job done.” Mark adds, “When he was told what he needed to do to reach Hino Master Elite status, he immediately began working toward scheduling and completing the certifications.”
John says he started the training in 2015 and completed online and hands-on training as it was released for new products by Hino. He had previously completed ASE training, but completed it again this year to recertify and to reach the goal of becoming a Hino Master Elite Technician. He says he set this goal of obtaining Master Elite status so that he would be better trained in order to be a better technician. There are also financial incentives. Technicians with Master Elite status receive a one-time bonus as well as an hourly pay increase.
Awesome job John and THANK YOU for your hard work and dedication to being the best service technician you can be!
