Mobile’s Management Team Adjusts to Accommodate Growth
Truckworx is excited to announce our new Vice President for the Southern Region, Matt Dobbins! As the company’s customer base in south Alabama and the Florida Panhandle continues to increase, the need for a dedicated corporate leader in the region has become apparent. In this newly created role, Matt will oversee all aspects of business for the four southernmost dealerships: Mobile, Thomasville, Dothan, and Montgomery, AL.
Matt has been with Truckworx for seven years; starting out as Truckworx-Mobile’s Service Manager and moving into the dealership’s branch manager role two years later. Before starting with Truckworx, Matt was the Production Manager for Segers Aero Corporation for five years.
Mike Levering, Vice President of Operations says, “Over the last seven years, Matt has consistently demonstrated his passion for making this company better in so many ways; from making the company more efficient to improving the overall experience of customers and employees. Matt leads with great passion and a genuine love for his team and I and expect great things to come from his increased focus.”
Matt says, “I am looking forward to providing leadership and guidance to the Mobile, Thomasville, Montgomery, and Dothan teams to help empower our employees to be the best they can be so that we can continue to build depth in our business. One of the things I appreciated from the beginning with Truckworx was that they offered opportunities for those who wanted to grow. There are a lot of people in this company that seek leadership roles and I intend to find them and help them realize their potential. That will help keep Truckworx moving in a positive direction for years to come.”
Matt’s increased area of focus coupled with the dealership’s incredible growth has also led to additional changes to the leadership team in Mobile.
Taking over Matt’s previous role as the Mobile dealership’s Branch Manager is Nathan Shirah. Nathan has been with the company for 15 years, starting out initially as a service technician and working his way up through Mobile’s service department where he was most recently the Service Manager. In his new role, Nathan will be working with corporate and local management teams to develop strategies to continuously improve all aspects of the dealership and to find new, better ways to solve our customers’ problems. Nathan says, “I truly care about the team and our customers and I hope to bring a positive influence and add value to everyone around me. I look forward to growing as a leader and to continuing to develop awesome relationships with our employees, customers, and vendors.”
As Nathan transitioned into his new role as Branch Manager, Ben Wolfe, who has worked with Truckworx since 2015 was simultaneously training to become Mobile’s new Service Manager. Ben started as a service technician and became Mobile’s first Triage Technician in 2018. He was then promoted to become the Shop Foreman in 2019. Nathan says, “Ben’s ability to learn and excel at each position he has worked in made him an easy choice as Service Manager. He is excellent with customers even in difficult situations and is great at connecting with people around him.”
In addition to filling the existing management roles, two new management roles have been created to accommodate the growing dealership.
In January of this year, Kandice Morgan, previously Service Advisor, was asked to step up into a newly created Assistant Service Manager role. Nathan says, “Before this promotion, Kandice had become so valuable to the team, it was obvious she needed a different, more challenging role. She is very driven and is definitely ready for this role!” Kandice will manage overall productivity of the service department by focusing on minimizing downtime with customers, productivity of techs, improving communication and updates with customers, and finding ways to improve profitability and efficiency.
The dealership also added an Office Manager position, promoting Ethel Casher-Moore, into the new role. Ethel has been with Truckworx since 2018 and worked as the Assistant Manager for First Franklin Financial for three years prior to that. She says she is excited to mentor staff, help them to achieve their goals, and generally excel as a team!
Newly named Regional Vice President, Matt Dobbins, says, “The team that has been selected in Mobile all have different abilities and compliment each other well. We look to this team for the future of this branch. It is important that they all recognize when things are important and truly understand when it is their time to act. We all need to remember that no ONE of us is smarter than all of us together.”
