Montgomery Service Technician

Damon Bradford, Service Technician at Truckworx-Montgomery, recently celebrated his fifth anniversary with us and is quickly becoming one of our leaders in the service department according to Montgomery Branch Manager, Cullen McDavid. “He really cares and takes a lot of pride in his job here. He is a technician that I can see staying with us throughout his career.”
Since starting with Truckworx, Damon has proven he is an employee who takes initiative and is willing to go above and beyond to achieve success for himself and for Truckworx. He says, “I like to get to work anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes early every day. I take that time to make sure my tool box is organized because that is an important part of working effectively. I check to see what RO’s (repair orders) may be in the box for me to do that day. Duties for the day could be anything from diagnosing to engine overhauls.” Cullen adds, “Damon is willing to do anything that is asked of him and even teaches our younger techs.”
In addition to taking action steps to work more efficiently on the job, Damon also is dedicated to staying up to date on training and continuously works toward achieving product certifications. He completed a 2-year Isuzu technician certification in November of 2019 and is one of only 415 fully-certified Isuzu technicians nationwide. To complete the certification, he was required to physically attend 12 instructor-led classes in California and Pennsylvania and also had to complete multiple online courses. Now that he has completed that, he says he is ready to start the process of becoming a Hino Master Technician. He says, “I want to become master certified in as many areas as possible and one day be part of the management team.”

Before working at Truckworx, Damon was a third-shift technician at Merchant’s Foodservice. His duties there included maintaining the company trucks and trailers. Before he started working on diesel engines, he did front end repairs on automobiles. He says, “I wanted to work at Truckworx because of their reputation for investing in their workers. I wanted the opportunity to grow in a company and become the best in my field. My favorite part of my job is a wiring diagnosis because of the challenge it can potentially bring. I enjoy working on Isuzu trucks the most.” Damon and his wife have three children and live in Prattville, AL. He says they are always on the go with band, sports, and other musical engagements with their children. Damon is involved with his church, Safe Harbor. In his free time, he enjoys working on his 1977 Datsun 280 Z named “Date Night”. They also enjoy drag racing on the weekends.
Truckworx is honored to have an employee like Damon and we wish him the best in all his endeavors! Thank you Damon for your commitment to excellence and for helping those around you to be successful as well!
